How TikTok LIVE agencies make money

TikTok LIVE agencies, which TikTok calls Creator Networks, are paid by TikTok, not by their creators. TikTok pays each agency a monthly bonus on a sliding scale based on how much its creators earn and how active they are. TikTok does not publish the rates; reported figures range from about 10% to 30%.

Never asks for your Backstage login

Official means TikTok's own pages and policy, or TikTok figures quoted by a named outlet. Reported means the press, agencies or industry sources: useful for the shape, not for exact numbers.

Who pays the agency

The agency's money comes out of TikTok's share of gifts, not out of the creator's. TikTok pays the agency a monthly bonus calculated from its roster's results. The creator is paid separately and directly by TikTok.

Agencies that ask creators for a cut of their gifts or an upfront fee are widely described as scams.

How big the bonus is

TikTok has never published the percentage it pays agencies. Everything below comes from the press and from industry sources, and the numbers have changed over time. Treat any single figure as a rough range, not a rate.

What moves the bonus

Because the bonus follows the roster's results, every extra diamond, every valid day and every new active creator is worth money to the agency. Rule violations cost money directly.

Agencies also take part in TikTok campaigns and regional leaderboard events between networks, and hand out traffic boosts to their creators.

Where the money is concentrated

A small share of creators brings in most of the gifts, so an agency's income usually rides on a few top hosts and their biggest supporters. Losing one of them moves the whole month.

What creators get

Creators are paid by TikTok under its own reward rules. Some agencies add their own bonuses, prizes or cashback, paid out of the agency's TikTok bonus.

A worked example (arithmetic, not data)

Viewers pay roughly $0.01 per diamond, so 1,000,000 diamonds a month is about $10,000 of gifts. At an assumed 10% rebate, the agency's bonus would be about $1,000 that month. Change the assumption and the answer changes with it: try your own numbers in the commission calculator.

FAQ

Do TikTok LIVE agencies take a cut of creators' gifts?

Legitimate agencies do not. TikTok pays the agency a separate monthly bonus based on its creators' results; the creator's own earnings are paid by TikTok directly.

What percentage does TikTok pay agencies?

TikTok does not publish it. Reported figures range from about 10% to 30% (2022 press), and Chinese industry sources describe a 6–12% base plus task bonuses. Treat these as rough ranges.

How much can a TikTok LIVE agency earn?

TikTok has said top creator networks can earn up to $3M a month. Most agencies are much smaller: TikTok's lowest tier, Training Camp, covers networks with up to $40k of monthly creator revenue.

When are agencies paid?

TikTok calculates the agency bonus monthly; Backstage lets networks review monthly bonuses and payouts. Exact dates vary by region and are not published.
