The viewer-side currency. Viewers buy coins with real money and spend them on gifts during live streams.
How coins work
Coins are purchased in-app — typical bundles start around $1.29 for 65 coins. Viewers use coins to send gifts of varying coin costs (a Rose = 1 coin, TikTok Universe = 44,999 coins).
Coins vs diamonds
Coins are what viewers spend. Diamonds are what creators earn from those gifts. The two are not the same currency, and TikTok takes a platform cut during the coin → diamond conversion.
Per-region pricing
Coin prices vary by country and platform (iOS/Android). The underlying diamond payout rate stays at ≈ $0.005 per diamond regardless of where the coins were bought.
