How coins work

Coins are purchased in-app — typical bundles work out to around $0.01–$0.015 per coin depending on country and store. Viewers use coins to send gifts of varying coin costs (Rose = 1 coin, TikTok Universe = 44,999 coins).

Coins vs diamonds

Coins are what viewers spend (~$0.01 each). Diamonds are what creators cash out ($0.005 each). A gift's face value is the same number in both currencies, but the different per-unit rates are how TikTok's ~50% platform cut shows up — creators take home roughly half of what viewers paid.

Per-region pricing

Coin prices vary by country and platform (iOS/Android/web). The creator-side payout rate stays at $0.005 per diamond regardless of where the coins were bought — TikTok absorbs the regional variance on its side.
