How gifting works
During a live, viewers tap the gift icon, pick a gift, and spend coins to send it. The gift animates on screen; the creator receives diamonds equal to the gift's coin cost (face value), which cash out at $0.005 each — roughly half of what the viewer paid, which is TikTok's platform cut.
